Letter from the Executive Director
ASGi is a trade association for
residential and commercial builder/installers,
our niche market partners and our prospective and existing
customers that invest in, develop and specify the use
of artificial turf products in private, public and quasi-public
landscape, leisure sports and other creative building
projects.
Our membership is international
- Italy, Netherlands, Spain, South Africa, Canada,
Mexico, Australia, China and the USA, so far ...
Today, we are a small, intimate
group, that formally began a little over 2 years
ago to keep our members up-to-date on industry
changes so they could focus on building their
businesses. We don't have "meetings".
Instead, we focus on out-reach and do email, forums,
news alerts and conference calls. We are all moving
in different directions, on different time zones
(and different continents!) and, frankly, in today's
economic times - our methods have proven to be
less expensive and more productive for everyone,
too. While ASGi may not have "in-person networking" opportunties
today, our membership is growing and our goal
is to have our first conference in 2011, some
where in the western USA.
Our members' dues help to sponsor
our website, our efforts to market and promote
our industry and our members. Dues insure that
the pages of the online membership are filled
with up-to-date resources; LOTS of resources;
market intelligence, and support; peer to peer;
with an emphasis on ethics & best
business practices.
This year, we are opening
up our forums and providing certification training
courses for installers - our schedule is
already booked for this year - classes are
being hosted in the west and southwest thru
the end of 2009.

Finished goods, we call names such as as artificial
turf, artificial grass, synthetic turf, synthetic
grass, fake grass, fake lawn and a many other
terms, may be represented along with any adhesive,
infill material or other component that would
be used in the construction of any type of artificial
grass or synthetic turf project.
For
some of our product lines, compliance and the
issuance of a general certificate of conformity
is voluntary, for other products, this may be
mandatory - which-ever the case, those that
need a simple and effective system, now have
one to use.
