This letter is from the Director of “Definitions” who is charged with defining the license categories able to legally contract for the various types of construction in the state of California - There have been so many questions over the years about the RIGHT license category to use – we asked the CSLB to provide us documented information regarding their requirements for the installation of artificial grass, synthetic turf, fake lawns and putting green products.
Please note – a catagory B license cannot legally take a contract for a project that includes ONLY artificial grass or synthetic turf – or even just landscaping! A legal contract for a B licensee would include 2 forms of construction of their trade – framing and carpentry – and, if the licensee has NOT applicable expertise or experience – may require them to sub-contract with a licensed professional artificial turf or synthetic grass installer.
